FAQs

Your Questions Answered

  • CASE HISTORY + GOAL PLANNING: The initial section of our appointment will be the case history. This is where we discuss your pain presentation and symptoms, also touching on general health and past medical and injury history. We will then discuss your health and wellbeing goals. My goal is to get the big picture of your current state of health and wellbeing, and where you want to be. This part is also important for me to make the decision on whether you are safe to treat. Osteopathy is a very safe treatment, but in a few rare cases it is not the appropriate modality. When I have made the decision that you are safe to treat, I will explain to you my framework for recovery then move on to the examination.

EXAMINATION: During the examination, you will start off standing, if you can. I will assess general posture, then palpate/ assess for symmetry, landmarks, and muscle tension. We will then go through a range of movements depending on your presentation to assess the quantity and quality of movement, as well as what reproduces the pain. The goal of the examination is to understand where the pain is, what is causing the pain, and to start to answer the question 'Why is the pain here, now? What predisposed it? What is maintaining it? At this point, I will explain my working diagnosis and suggest a treatment and management plan. You are welcome to ask any questions the whole way through the appointment

TREATMENT: Treatment involves work on muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves and viscera. Techniques I use include joint mobilization, adjustments, soft tissue work, massage, scraping, stretching, exercise prescription and K-taping

  • Please bring comfortable clothing that you can move easily in. A tank top, shorts/ leggings are usually fine. Depending on the area of treatment, sometimes you may be required to get undressed.

  • We are covered my major health insurance partners like Bupa, Axa, WPA, Cigna + Vitality. It is best to speak to your insurance provider directly for further details. We can also provide a receipt for treatment for you to claim back.

  • Yes, we can refer you for further imaging if clinically justified. Our Osteopaths can refer you further imaging through one of two pathways:

    1) Refer to your GP for further imaging

    2) Refer privately to our imaging partner Oryon Imaging.

We can provide a referral letter for whichever pathways you and your Osteopath agree on

  • Greenwich: Unfortunately, the Market Studios Wellness Centre is not wheel-chair accessible as it is on the first floor.

Canary Wharf: Please email us should you require step-fee access

  • 6. Can I bring someone?

It is very important to us that you feel comfortable in all your sessions, so we go to every effort to do so. So if you feel more comfortable bringing someone, you are most welcome to bring a family member or friend. Due to the varying room sizes we use, we suggest not bringing more than one person

  • No, you do not need a referral to see an osteopath. Osteopaths are primary care practitioners and also Allied Health Professionals (alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists and paramedics), meaning you can be confident of safe and professional conduct at all times. Osteopathy is recommended by The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment for lower back pain. In addition, there are guidelines published by the Department of Health which advocate that osteopathy can effectively treat patients with musculoskeletal problems. We suggest that you let your GP know if you are having osteopathic treatment, so that they can keep your patient notes up-to-date.

  • Please phone or email us at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment if are unable to attend.

  • I would like to say Loli has looked after me extremely well with all my aches and pains. I have had treatment over the years with many different specialists and I can’t say enough how Loli has helped me intensely. Loli has a lovely bubbly friendly personality which is very warm and welcoming and puts you at ease quickly. Not only has Loli looked after me but my 25 year old daughter and 89 year old mother who suffered from severe pain and could hardly walk into the clinic but a few treatments was back to walking and not much pain. We would like to thank you Loli for all your help

  • When I first visit the Clinic, I had a strong hip and lower back pain, I didn’t know what to expect but anything I tried before din't really worked, after few sessions and some exercises at home that Loli advised me to do, the pain has highly improved. Loli understood the issue from the first session and has worked on it over several sessions, explaining me the problem and the solution. She also has a lot of knowledge in nutrition and has advised how to improve through the diet an anti-inflammatory approach to fix my issue. I strongly recommend her to anyone!!!

    —Isabella

  • That was my first osteo experience I’ve ever had. And I wouldn’t change a thing after being treated by Loli. I didn’t know what to expect, but she has explained everything, made a thorough assessment as well as made me feel comfortable from the get-go. Her professionalism and friendly nature made every session very smooth and (almost) painless 😉 Loli worked on my issue over several sessions. I’ve also done some exercises at home and all combined brought results I wished for. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Thank you Loli
